What is it?
Bismuth subsalicylate is used to treat upset stomach, diarrhea, heartburn, indigestion, and nausea. It may also be used to prevent traveler's diarrhea and to treat stomach ulcer and upset stomach related to an infection with Helicobacter pylori (a bacteria).
Other names for bismuth subsalicylate include: Pepto Bismol, Kaopectate.
